There’s no doubt that Australian weather can be harsh. The Extreme heat and humidity we deal with in Australia can be catastrophic in so many ways. That’s why we are extremely vigilant when it comes to the health, happiness and comfort of your Dog whilst in our care.
SMOOSH™ DOG TRANSPORT capture ongoing cabin temperature measurements and store this historical data so it can be analysed. We recognise that the air temperature inside our vehicles can be very different from the dashboard or the temperature shown on a vehicle temperature gauge. The information we gather allows us to set the perfect temperature for our cabin areas (between 16 – 23 degrees) using our in built climate control system (controlled by our driver at any time).
Our onboard cameras allow the driver to see our passengers during transit so we are aware of any signs of stress immediately, should this happen.
But what happens at rest stops? Especially when it’s 40 degrees outside.. We know that extreme changes in temperature can lead to undue stress and can be very dangerous for Dogs (even more so for Brachy Breeds). Since our cabins are fully insulated, the temperature inside remains constant for longer and we use fans to push air around and through our fully open cabin. While we use natural shade as much as possible, we also help regulate a Dog’s temperature using specialist cooling products which each Dog will wear during their exercise break outside of the vehicle as they require it.
